The Tin House has a comfortable double bedroom, and a bedroom with twin bunks, and a zed bed (a 2nd zed bed can be provided if necessary). (sleeps up to 5). It has a livingdining room with TV, DVD, video, radioCD. A kitchen with electric cooker, refrigerator, freezer and microwave, a shower room with loo and washbasin. The property is strictly non-smoking, and request that any guests who smoke, to do so outside, and to dispose of their cigarette ends tidily. We are, as yet, awarded a Bronze award for Green Tourism and make every effort to encourage 'Green' ethics for our visitors. The property is small, but everything is there! It is geared toward young families with young children and couples. The bunk beds can sleep adults as well, but be aware that the property is small. The property was built in 1908, with a timber frame, and corrugated iron cladding on the outside, and tongue and groove paneling on the inside. It is quirky and 'fun'. Children finding it 'Enchanting'. The doorway into the bathroom is quite low, so mind your head if tall. The Tin House is full of character, and could be considered as 'Glamping'.DOGS are welcome if they are well behaved and have their own bedding - £4 per night per dog.The Tin House would not be suitable for the disabled, as the approach is up some steps. It is quirky' and enjoys a hillside location. It is an unusual construction, timber framed and clad in iron and slate. It is typical of a number of buildings in this area, built in 1908. The interior is largely tongue and groove panelling and the living room in particular, is in a seaside theme, making it fun to stay in. It is very child friendly, with a selection of children's videos and books, DVDs, toys and games. There are also plenty of books and videos and DVDs for adults and games. There is a garden with a picnic table and a bench and parasol for outside dining, and a sea view. You can sit outside and enjoy the evening, and see the sunset over the sea, which is often spectacular. The village has a village shop where you can get fresh milk, bread, eggs and newspapers daily, fresh veg and fruit, general groceries, magazines, some medicines, almost anything you might want and it is an off license! In fact it is pretty brilliant! There is also a pub (The Garthangharad Hotel, also a restaurant) booking is advisable, and they are open in the daytime and can offer teascoffees scones etc, all just 3-5 minutes walk down the hill.I can provide bed linen and if required, towels, tea towels etc, to save you carrying them, for a further fee of £15. If you are a couple only using one bed, the charge would be just £10. This will added to your booking figure.Parking is available in two free car parks in the village, both of which are just a few minutes' walk (5 minutes- just a little further than the journey to the pub!)The Tin house is accessed from the Tarmac Road (Ffordd y Coleg), up 4 steps and along a gravel path with a further 2 steps. This property is unsuitable for anyone with limited mobility, or wheelchairs.

Directions

Coming from Tywyn: You will enter the village and travel past some houses on the right which are elevated above the level of the road. At the end of this row, there is the war memorial, just before the church. The road swings round to the left and goes infront of the primary school (now closed). You will go ahead in a straight line, and then it veers to the right a little, over the bridge, with the shop on the right just before the bridge. just after the bridge there is a right hand turn which is Ffordd y Coleg. This is directly in front of the pub, which is a white building (Garthangharad). Turn right at the pub, The Tin House is situated a little above the village. You go up the road, past the front of the pub, (Ffordd y Coleg). You will see ahead of you some large iron gates, in front of a large house, and a track goes up just past there. There is a little cottage ahead of you, which comes to a point, and the track runs to the right of it, the road runs to the left. Continue along the road. There is a row of cottages, (5), and at the far end of the cottages, the last one is called (Y Bryn,) there are some steps. You can park to unload at the bottom of these steps, and The Tin House is tucked away behind there. It is not possible to park here, just unload and load. The steps are on the one side of the Tin House, and the other side opens onto the track. The track has to be kept clear as farmers bring cattle and sheep along it, and access the farmland on quad bikes etc. From Dolgellau: you will come along the A493, which is the coast road, you will pass through Penmaenpool, with the George 3rd Pub on the right, and then you will reach Arthog, where there is a quarry on the left. Keep going and you will reach the signs to Fairbourne and its little railway (brown signs). Stay on 493, and you will go through Friog. The road rises as you pass the old Tollhouse, and you will see the sea. You are not far now from Llwyngwril and you will come into the village soon. You will see Llwyngwril Gallery ahead of you, which is a green building looking like it was a chapel. You will go past the Gallery and where the road sweeps around to the right, in front of the pub, to go over the bridge. Do not go over the bridge, you will stay on the road going straight ahead, and go up the hill (Ffordd y Coleg). You will see ahead of you some large iron gates, and a track goes up just past there. There is a little cottage ahead of you, which comes to a point, and the track runs to the right of it, the road runs to the left. Continue along up the road. There is a row of cottages, (5), and at the far end of the cottages, the last one (called Y Bryn,) there are some steps. You can park to unload at the bottom of these steps, and The Tin House is tucked away behind there. You can drive up the hill past the Cottages and turn round, by a right hand turning to some bungalows. This is the one side of the Tin House, and the other side opens onto the track. The garden is beside the Tin House.
